About Music Mile

It’s a mile – Calgary’s MUSIC MILE - from Studio Bell in East Village to the Blues Can in Inglewood along 9th Avenue SE.

  • Music Mile is a vital component of Calgary’s music scene – a vibrant stretch of music venues, cultural attractions, and local businesses that attract Calgarians from all corners of the city. Music is a prime mover for Calgary’s economic diversification, and Music Mile has proven to be a locus for our city’s evolution as a true music city.

  • Pre COVID, there were more than 50 live music events on Music Mile every week year-round. Live From Music Mile transitions the Mile back to live music in multiple venues.

  • It’s not just the music that makes Music Mile hop. It’s the village vibe from the mix of celebrated restaurants, hip brew pubs, one-off shops and galleries. It’s urban walks and river walks, exciting new architecture and historic treasures.

  • It feels good to be here.

About Live from Music Mile: It's Friday Night!

Live music is returning to Music Mile! As venues begin to open their doors to live audiences and welcome artists back to their stages, Music Mile, with support from Calgary Arts Development, will provide funding to support venues in booking artists and hosting live music on the Mile for five Fridays in July. Live from Music Mile: It's Friday Night!

  • COVID-19 has had devastating implications for our society and for most industries. Music, events, and attractions have been hit especially hard.

  • Live music venues are a foundation of any music eco-system, and urgent action is required to ensure the survival and recovery of our live music infrastructure.

  • This initiative will inject much needed resources and vitality into Music Mile, supporting the recovery of Calgary's arts and culture industry post-pandemic.

  • Come down to the Mile to listen live, or let the music come to you! Music Mile will be streaming live from 5:00 - 11:00 PM at musicmile.ca and at MusicMileYYC on Facebook.

  • Keep an eye on @musicmileyyc on Instagram and Facebook for the weekly It's Friday Night! lineup, and be sure to check out all the live music happening on the Mile this summer at musicmile.ca/events
